Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a Pilates Session?

All private and mat sessions are one hour.

What is the best way to learn Pilates?

We recommend taking at least one private session in order to familiarize yourself with the Pilates method.

What should I wear?

Wear clothing that allows you to move with ease and comfort. Extremely loose garments make it difficult for both you and the instructor to see your movements. You will not wear shoes, and socks are optional.

How many times a week should I take Pilates?

Consistency is the key! We recommend doing Pilates at least two to three times a week.

Can I begin by taking a mat class?

You can if you do not have significant injuries. If you are injured, please let us know. A private session will help you find your weaknesses before you take your first mat class.

Should I bring my own mat?

We have mats available at the studio, but please feel free to bring your own to any of the classes.

Is Pilates right for me?

Pilates is appropriate for any fitness level and people over the age of 12. You will see results from Pilates whether you are an elite athlete or an individual with physical restrictions. If you suffer from osteoporosis, arthritis, scoliosis, or are rehabilitating an injury or pregnant, you can feel safe taking Pilates. We do, however, recommend consent from your personal physician.
